WebAlthough exocytic vesicle trafficking plays an important role in recycling the PIN-FORMED (PIN) auxin efflux carriers and in polar auxin transport during lateral root formation, the mechanistic details of these processes are not well understood. WebHere, we demonstrate that lipid-protein particle release by autolysosome exocytosis protects neurons from ferroptosis, a form of cell death driven by lipid peroxidation. We show that during oxidative stress, peroxidated lipids and iron are released from neurons by autolysosomal exocytosis which requires the exocytic machinery VAMP7 and syntaxin 4.

As an active transport mechanism, exocytosis requires the use of energy to transport material. Exocytosis and its counterpart, endocytosis, are … See more The term was proposed by De Duve in 1963. See more In eukaryotes there are two types of exocytosis: 1) Ca triggered non-constitutive (i.e., regulated exocytosis) and 2) non-Ca triggered constitutive (i.e., non-regulated). Ca triggered non-constitutive exocytosis requires an external signal, a specific sorting signal on … See more • Endocytosis • Pinocytosis • Phagocytosis • Membrane nanotube • Viral shedding • Presynaptic active zone See more Five steps are involved in exocytosis: Vesicle trafficking Certain vesicle-trafficking steps require the transportation of a … See more Retrieval of synaptic vesicles occurs by endocytosis.
